This is the Emperor Pompey and his Guard. They are foundry figs done in the traditional Roman colour scheme of Red and Bronze.

Dragon Titan 2
Well I've been slowly working my way up the Dragon and have reached the head. A good tip for painting such large models is to use a pre made paint as the top highlight to guarantee consistency of colour across the figure. With Dragon, I've used Snot Green as the top highlight, and given the entire green areas of the fig a tinit of green ink to blend the colour and make sure all those nooks and crannies of the skin are acknowledged!

Dragon Titan
This will be the first of many posts regarding this monster I suspect, as he's a time consuming beast. After careful assembly involving drilling and pinning of the joints I painted up the base in simple colours and glued the dragon down. I had been considering whether to try and paint him in pieces and then assemble (as I did do with the wings, as yet unattached), but he's too tricky to do that way. He also need the base attached so I could literally hold him without rubbing paint of other sections.
Yep, that's a ordinary sized skeleton in the foreground for some scale!
He'll be a Dark Elf Dragon once finished (i"ve started sculpting a saddle for the rider on top), so the colour scheme has to be fairly dark. What I've gone for is actually a fairly bright top highlight of Snot Green (very un-elfy!), but am then tinting this with a darker green and black ink mix so it won't end up too bright. The base coat is the time saving Foundation colour Orkhide Shade, a deep green. This is then blended to black along the ridges of the back, and up to Stone Grey on the belly and palms of the claws. Thus far I've manged the tail and up to one of the legs, and there's still some highlighting to go!
Apologies: the beast is so huge my camera struggled to cope with the focus shift (i think it was fear!).
Pirates, Y'arr!

Undead: Grave Guard
Because I'm working on figs that haven't been released yet, I can't pop them up here.
So, to compensate here's a converted Grave Guard I've been working on. The fig is a combination of Dark Elf and Skeleton parts, with a little green stuff for the arm guards to blend in the skeletal hand. The colour scheme is bronze and red/brown. Look out for more of these next year!

Flagellants
These ar part of a larger army I've been working on for some time. The background for the army is Sigmarite, with Sigmarite 'nuns' forming the basis for the army (in place of State Troops) and the rest of the army substituting in Flagellants and Sisters in place of artillery crew etc.
These are part of one of the flagellant units. The central colour scheme is a deep brown/red and tan. To make the flagellants look a lot rougher I've painted dirt and mud on their bare feet and around the edges of their garments. Book pages and scrolls will be all over this army, and the flagellants are no exception.
Stay tuned for more of this army over the coming months: there are plans in motion for a spectacular War Altar to form th e army's centrepiece.

Harlequin Farseer
The Farseer is painted in harlequin colours. The background is he travels the webway with the Harlequins and has taken on their colours and style.
As with the other Harlequin, the rainbow colouring is the predominant idea.
The weapons are bone: I wanted to create the impression that they are carved from a single piece .
Harlequin 1
The mission statement was bright, with a rainbow colour. The hand is missing so it can be mailed. I've made the mask metallic to stand out from the flat colours of the rest of the figure.
A tip for those painting this figure: paint the cloak completely before attaching the legs or gluiing the figure to its base!

Undead: Undead Bretonnian
This guy is a conversion, again for a campaign. The idea is that he's a dead Bretonnian knight on a spectral steed. I don't often go in for lighting effects, and this one reminded me why: they are extremely time consuming! I used the same Ethereal scheme as on the banshee for the horse, and obviously a zombie head for the conversion!

Undead: Banshee
The trick with this fig was to keep the shading and highlighting as subtle as possible.
A lot of ethereals I've seen tend to stick to a single colour to indicate ghostliness, but I wanted to create something a little more interesting. I picked various parts of the model and worked down from an almost white base coat using different shades of blue or blue-grey to blend into the crevices. The top highlight then was white. For the skin I mixed in a little Damsel Flesh highlighted up with white and shaded down with blue-grey.
I made the hair a little darker than the rest because I noticed when I was about to do it that the figure had accidentally moved from bright at the base to darker at the top, so it semed natural to keep that going.
I've been working on a Wood Elf Spellsinger (the floating one) in the same colours, which I'll post up soon.
Undead: Vampire
In the last few weeks I've been tinkering with some Undead characters. These will be for an upcoming campaign. The first is the Vampire Hunter from Mordheim, although I'll be using her as an actual Vampire.
As with all the Undead, I'm trying to keep the colour palette cool, but as sh'es a character I'm putting red hair on her so she'll stand out on the table.
The colours I've used for the flesh are Reaper's Caucasian, Damsel Flesh (appropriately) and Ivory to really make her pale. To shade the eyes I've mixed in a little Night Sky and bended it into the Damsel Flesh layer, and then added some black fro the brow and socket. The pupils are Scab Red, as is the hair.
The dress is predominantly Ultramarine Blue, with the white areas blended up fro a base of Reaper Slate. For the stockings I mix a little grey into the flesh tone and then highlight with Damsel Flesh as normal. This way the top highlight gets as close to the bare skin highlight as possible, but shades down darker
